The contactless technology is increasingly used in the world of payments due to its numerous advantages and benefits for users.

This technology offers more comfort and rapidity because it makes possible to pay without entering a PIN or a signature, the customer simply has to approach the card or device to the electronic reader and the payment is done just in seconds. For those reasons, the contactless technology is particularly useful for micropayments, which are small and fast purchases, made electronically, such as a cup of coffee, a newspaper, a cinema ticket or the bus fare.

Venanzio Cipollitti, CEO of the Inteligensa Group, explains that current payments require the combination of factors such as speed, security and ease of use, and contactless technology integrates all of them in one device.

Inteligensa, a company characterized by a constant innovation, has developed a portfolio of products based on contactless technology, such as the i-Thing® (a contactless device in both sticker or key fob forms) and contactless cards, that give users more freedom and dynamism by allowing him/her to make payments in a quick and easy way.

Contactless technology is particularly useful in the mass transit sector, where it is the ideal alternative to cash payments due to the comfort and access it offers, mainly to the low-income sector. But it´s not only beneficial for passengers, but also for transport operators, which get a greater efficiency in its service and an effective control of its income.

Inteligensa has stood out itself in the Latin American market of payment instruments for mass transit, being one of the main supplier of contactless cards for the mobilization of passengers of Mexico City Metro, one of the major transport system of the world, and for the bus payment of Rio de Janeiro students, as well as tokens for the Caracas –Charallave – Cúa Railroad of Venezuela.
