The production of Post-Consumption Recycled PET cards has surpassed the mark of 21 million units in circulation in Brazil, announces IntelCav. The technology developed by the company is used by large banks and other institutions on their sustainability projects.
“The growth in the production of Post-Consumption cars during the last years shows how viable it is to manufacture the product in large scale and how well accepted it is by the public in general”, comments Alvaro de Oliveira, IntelCav´s CEO. “In order to produce 21 million units, more than 130 tons of the material has been used. The card was winner of the 2009 Eco Award in the Sustainable Product Category and also part of the “Instituto Ethos” trade shows. Both recognitions demonstrate how relevant the product is to a parcel of the population that is concerned and seeking for more sustainable alternatives to the planet. That encourages us to keep on investing on such technology and on other strains that will bring the same benefits to the preservation of the environment, creating income and social inclusion”, ends Alvaro.
